you can’t educate people like that, but like, that’s the thing though isn’t it? we’re so hell bent on our beliefs and wouldn’t budge a centimeter on any of it, and we think it’s so obvious how can no one else here see it

but they feel the same way

so i’ve just accepted you can’t “win” with them so i just stay quiet in school and silently rage in my head

also they picked it so my dad could take care of my grandparents (who are doing fantastic it’s ridiculous how good they’re doing at like 80) (my grandfather is a history professor and he’s probably the most educated on all the politics in the family, we had an hour and a half talk about why a sloped tax system is fifteen million times better than a standard tax rate)
